2025-26 TLIPA BOARD MEMBERS

Jamie Brockmeyer

President

As an experienced educator, dedicated real estate agent and full-time lake resident, I am committed to preserving our lake through responsible stewardship, transparent leadership, open communication and informed decision-making.

I will protect and preserve Turtle Lake against threats such as: invasive species, shoreline erosion, high geese population, while ensuring safety and protecting our property values for future generations!

Peg Chambers

Secretary/Treasurer

The Chambers’ families have been riparians on Turtle Lake since 1978. We love Turtle Lake.

My experience includes serving as TLIPA treasurer (2018-24), HOA president (2004-25), on multiple community task forces in Glenview, IL, and over forty years in consulting and project management for IBM and Hewlett Packard.

My specific goals include improving the transparency and accountability of the Turtle Lake Improvement and Protection Association through both open meetings and communications.

I will work diligently to ensure Turtle Lake’s beauty and health are protected for our children and grandchildren.

Tracy Brooker

DIRECTOR

Tracy and her family came to Turtle Lake eight years ago and it quickly became a very special place.. Tracy joined the TLIPA Board to be of service to the Turtle Lake community and to help carry out the important mission of the lake association. She brings over thirty years of experience serving affinity groups, volunteer boards and not-for-profit institutions. Tracy and her husband Tom live in Oak Park, IL.

Jim Schirott

DIRECTOR

Jimmy Schirott is a long time resident of Turtle Lake. He was elected to the board of directors in 2024 and serves as chairman of the fish management committee. Jim is an avid fisherman and has for several years worked with the WDNR to help ensure the fish populations are kept in good balance with the Turtle Lake environment. He also organized a record-breaking fish stocking fundraising event in August 2024 in partnership with Snug Lake Harbor campground and restaurant.

Tom Welsh

DIRECTOR

Tom is in a wonderful relationship with Linda Cuellar. Tom’s son, Jeff  has blessed him with two grandchildren; Hunter (10) and Emma (8). Tom brings 13 years of association experience serving on his condominium board in Des Plaines, IL and currently serves as its president. He is a sales executive serving within the same industry for 47 years. Tom’s other interests include golf and Florida vacations. Most of all, he has developed life long friends while spending nearly 60 years of summers at his Turtle Lake home. Tom is honored to serve on the TLIPA board, and his goal is to serve “as long as [he is] wanted,” and to be the best steward for Turtle Lake and its continued best interests.

Jack Foucault

DIRECTOR

My family has lived close and with a great view of Turtle Lake for over 20 years.  We have enjoyed being on the lake whenever we can tubing and fishing. I am an avid fisherman and Turtle Lake is a special resource and now the jewel 💎 in Walworth county . I am volunteering on the board to help protect Turtle Lake from destruction as a fishery. I only want the best for Turtle Lake and I will never stop fighting to protect this precious resource.

Scott Nowicki

DIRECTOR

Turtle Lake is special to a lot of people and we are lucky to have so many that are looking to get or stay involved in its future.  I am not a full time resident but after renovating a home in the Crystal Bowl, investing my money and time into helping build a local business, and volunteering my time on the board while leading the buoy committee, my family and I are proud of what we’ve accomplished in our community.  I hope to continue bringing level-headed thinking and positivity to the team.

Linda Szramiak

2024-25 PRESIDENT

Linda has seen our lake community grow and evolve since her parents, Jerry and Millie Sus, purchased the family cottage in 1969. As President of the TLIPA, she hopes to share her enthusiasm and experiences serving on multiple boards, including: Walworth County Lakes Assn; a library board and its consortium; a school-related board; and, a condominium association board. Linda is also enthusiastic about continuing education and learning. As a current Wisconsin Lakes Leader (Crew 10, 2014), her goal is to keep Turtle Lake healthy for generations to come. Her primary role as president is to listen to member’s needs, learn everyday and clearly communicate so the TLIPA Board can best serve our lake and its community.

George M. Lawrence

Turtle Lake Consulting Engineer

George Lawrence is a retired experimental physicist. He earned his PhD from the California Institute of Technology (Cal Tech) in 1963, and completed post-doctoral work at Princeton University. He served as a Senior Research Associate at the University of Colorado specializing in Space Science until he retired in 2003. George’s father, a water conservation engineer, influenced him greatly and instilled in George a passion for healthy watersheds, lakes and waterways. He married a Turtle Lake property owner in 1985. In 2008, George began researching and cataloging reams of technical data and compiled a comprehensive history of the entire Turtle Creek Watershed, and especially Turtle Lake. The TLIPA board is grateful to have George as an active member who humbly states “It’s fun!” helping the Turtle Lake community by providing expert, unbiased scientific data and recommendations that help maintain the health, safety and beauty of our lake.
