
Linda Szramiak
2024-25 PRESIDENT
Linda has seen our lake community grow and evolve since her parents, Jerry and Millie Sus, purchased the family cottage in 1969. As President of the TLIPA, she hopes to share her enthusiasm and experiences serving on multiple boards, including: Walworth County Lakes Assn; a library board and its consortium; a school-related board; and, a condominium association board. Linda is also enthusiastic about continuing education and learning. As a current Wisconsin Lakes Leader (Crew 10, 2014), her goal is to keep Turtle Lake healthy for generations to come. Her primary role as president is to listen to member’s needs, learn everyday and clearly communicate so the TLIPA Board can best serve our lake and its community.

Don Trottier
2024-25 VICE-PRESIDENT
Donald Trottier is a retired banker who has lived in a red house on the East side of the lake for over 30 Years. He continues serving the community as a realtor, and also serves as the County Board Supervisor of Racine County.

Lauren Halverson
2024-25 SECRETARY
Turtle Lake has a special place in Lauren’s heart as she has been spending time with family and friends at the lake her entire life. As the TLIPA Secretary, Lauren is working to communicate with all members the boards’ efforts to protect and preserve Turtle Lake so it is safe for future generations. In recent years, she led the TLIPA membership committee resulting in increased membership. Away from the lake, Lauren holds a leadership position at work and serves on her Homeowners Association board.

John Schehl
TREASURER
John and his wife, Jeanne, acquired “Turtle Cottage” on Milwaukee Road in 2012. They immediately fell in love with Turtle Lake, its beautiful environment and the amazing people who live or spend time at the lake.
John is retired after serving 25-years on staff with a national association in the construction industry. He hopes his association experience can help bring together the entire Turtle Lake community to focus on protecting and improving the lake, its shoreline and environment for the benefit of all.
John and Jeanne have 5 children, 9 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, many of which are spread across the U.S., thus providing plenty of travel opportunities!

Tracy Brooker
DIRECTOR
Tracy and her family came to Turtle Lake seven years ago and it quickly became a very special place.. Tracy joined the TLIPA Board to be of service to the Turtle Lake community and to help carry out the important mission of the lake association. She brings over thirty years of experience serving affinity groups, volunteer boards and not-for-profit institutions. Tracy and her husband Tom live in Oak Park, IL.

Cade Sundstedt
DIRECTOR
Cade has been a member of the Turtle Lake community his entire life, with a family history on the lake approaching 70 years. Turtle Lake is a place he holds dear to connect with family and friends who are like family. With degrees in civil engineering and biology, Cade enjoys lending his expertise and experiences to help make Turtle Lake a place for families to enjoy for years to come.
His wife Molly, kiddos Crosby and Caroline and Cade spend most of their time at Turtle Lake boating, fishing, and projecting, and he looks forward to meeting more of the community!

Thomas Welsh
DIRECTOR
Tom is in a wonderful relationship with Linda Cuellar. Tom’s son, Jeff has blessed him with two grandchildren; Hunter (9) and Emma (7). Tom brings 13 years of association experience serving on his condominium board in Des Plaines, IL and currently serves as its president. He is a sales executive serving within the same industry for 47 years. Tom’s other interests include golf and Florida vacations. Most of all, he has developed life long friends while spending nearly 60 years of summers at his Turtle Lake home. Tom is honored to serve on the TLIPA board, and his goal is to serve “as long as [he is] wanted,” and to be the best steward for Turtle Lake and its continued best interests.

Jim Schirott
DIRECTOR
Jimmy Schirott is a long time resident of Turtle Lake. He was elected to the board of directors in 2024 and serves as chairman of the fish management committee. Jim is an avid fisherman and has for several years worked with the WDNR to help ensure the fish populations are kept in good balance with the Turtle Lake environment. He also organized a record-breaking fish stocking fundraising event in August 2024 in partnership with Snug Lake Harbor campground and restaurant.

Scott Nowicki
DIRECTOR
Scott is an active member of the Turtle Lake community along with his wife, Candace, sons, George and Mack, and Mom and Dad, Deb and SDS. Scott was elected to the TLIPA board in 2023 and serves as chair of the TLIPA buoy committee. He also is proud to be a partner of the Turtle Lake Tap and Grill. Turtle Lake, and all the people that make up the community, are very special to Scott and his family.

George M. Lawrence
Turtle Lake Consulting Engineer
George Lawrence is a retired experimental physicist. He earned his PhD from the California Institute of Technology (Cal Tech) in 1963, and completed post-doctoral work at Princeton University. He served as a Senior Research Associate at the University of Colorado specializing in Space Science until he retired in 2003. George’s father, a water conservation engineer, influenced him greatly and instilled in George a passion for healthy watersheds, lakes and waterways. He married a Turtle Lake property owner in 1985. In 2008, George began researching and cataloging reams of technical data and compiled a comprehensive history of the entire Turtle Creek Watershed, and especially Turtle Lake. The TLIPA board is grateful to have George as an active member who humbly states “It’s fun!” helping the Turtle Lake community by providing expert, unbiased scientific data and recommendations that help maintain the health, safety and beauty of our lake.
